Overall Analysis of 170 Complaints Received in 3rd Quarter

Explanatory notes:

There were a total of 170 enquires received in this quarter with the following break down:

  • 23 complaints were within the jurisdiction of the Commission;
  • 4 complaints were outside the jurisdiction of the Commission;
  • 112 complaints received were classified as 'enquiries' received by the Commission from the general public on how to determine their grievances or seek the Commission's expertise on directions towards their ordinary complaints
  • 17 were classified as Watching Briefs because the complaint was not written directly to the Commission but copied for the attention of the Commission
  • 14 were classified as having Alternative Remedy meaning the complaint had another remedy or channel of complaint that they could reasonably be expected to use.
